Colorado Injury Attorneys - What We Do

Our focus is on people who have been harmed by the conduct of others. We handle what are typically called personal injury cases. That is a broad category that includes people who have been injured in car accidents, motorcycle accidents, boating accidents and skiing accidents. We also help people who have been injured because of dangerous conditions on someone else's property, which are known as "premises liability" cases. We help people who have been injured because of the negligence of healthcare providers including dentists. We also help people who have been injured because of the conduct of insurance companies including breach of insurance contracts and insurance company bad faith.

We are not a high-volume law firm and we don't set unreasonable expectations for potential clients in order to simply "get the case". Many of our clients have come to us after they were initially told to expect the moon and the stars only find out that the insurance company was only willing to offer the cost of a value meal and the attorneys were not inclined to press forward to take the case to trial. We have found that it is not nearly as important how good our clients feel when they first meet with us but how satisfied they are when the case is done. We find this is based upon a combination of the reasonableness of the expectations that were originally set, the quality of the communication as the case moved forward, the effort that was made to achieve the best possible result and ultimately what result was obtained.

We will always tell you what we believe is reasonable at the time the first meeting, keep you informed of factors that will affect the ultimate result and make every effort to ensure that you are not shocked or disappointed when it comes time to conclude the case. In the meantime, we put every creative thought and approach into the case that we can so that your initial expectations are not only met but exceeded.

Many of our cases come from referrals from former clients and attorneys. We believe this is due to the fact that we take on many challenging cases – the case that have hurdles to overcome and problems to solve, such as coverage issues, liability issues, or pre-existing conditions. Some of the big volume law firms don't want to take those cases because they are difficult, because they won't settle quickly and because the attorneys either don't have the time, or are not inclined to expend the time and effort and creative thought into achieving a good result.

Most cases in fact do settle - the challenge is to maximize the settlement obtained. The best way we know of to settle a case is to be prepared to take the case to trial. Part of the reason we often have cases referred to us and part of the reason for our success is that insurance companies know that we will take cases to trial. If an insurance company is dealing with the law firm that has a history of being unwilling to take the difficult cases to trial, the insurance company will be less likely to offer fair value to settle the case. We know this from over thirty years of combined experience including 13 years that Ron worked in insurance defense before switching sides in order to represent injured victims instead.
