Misty Arnaud Prudhomme was born and raised in Eunice, Louisiana, and graduated from St. Edmund High School in 1996. Misty attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in resource biology and biodiversity. After college, she continued to pursue her goal of becoming an attorney by attending Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University, graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 2003. Misty is licensed to practice in Louisiana; is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association; and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District.
Following law school, Misty accepted a position as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Aaron Frank McGee in the 27th Judicial District Court in St. Landry Parish. Upon completion of her clerkship in 2004, she moved to the Pineville area and practiced with law firms that handled primarily insurance defense cases where she represented insurance companies in lawsuits related to automobile accidents and homeowner’s claims. In 2009, Misty was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney for the 35th Judicial District Court in Grant Parish prosecuting misdemeanor, felony, and juvenile delinquency matters. She also handled Child in Need of Care and Families in Need of Services issues.
In 2014, Misty obtained her teaching certification in elementary education from Northwestern State University and taught 3rd grade through 5th grade for six years.
Misty re-entered the active practice of law in April of 2020, joining Vilar & Green as an associate attorney. Her areas of practice include personal injury, insurance disputes, contracts, general defense, municipal law, successions, wills, and powers of attorney.
